Getting Started with LectureLogger’s Mobile App
Ready to get started with LectureLogger? This guide will walk you through the process of getting started with our mobile app so you can easily track your attendance and stay engaged in your courses.
Step 1: Download the LectureLogger App
Visit the App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile device.
Search for "LectureLogger" to find the app.
Tap on "Download" or "Install" to begin the installation process.
Once the app is installed, open it!
Step 2: Create Your LectureLogger Account
Launch the LectureLogger app on your mobile device.
Tap on "Sign Up" to create a new account.
Enter your school’s .edu email address, name, and student ID when prompted. Double check this information before entering, as you won’t be able to change it later.
Create a strong, unique password for your account.
Tap on "Create Account" to complete the registration process.
Step 3: Join a Course
After creating your account, you'll be able to join your courses.
To join a course, scan the QR code provided by your instructor using the LectureLogger app's built-in QR code scanner.
Once the QR code is scanned, you'll be prompted to confirm registration for the course.
Verify that the course details are correct, then join the course!
Step 4: Check-In for Classes
To check-in for your classes, open the LectureLogger app.
Tap on the "Check In" button.
Position your device's camera towards the QR code displayed in the classroom.
The app will automatically scan the QR code and verify your attendance.
Once your check-in is successful, you'll receive a confirmation message on the screen.
Step 5: View Your Attendance History
To view your attendance history, tap on the "History" tab at the bottom of the app.
You’ll see a list of your courses. Tap on a specific course to view detailed attendance records, including your individual class check-ins and absence dates.
Step 6: Request Excusal for an Absence
Note: Requesting excusal for absences must be enabled by your instructor. If this feature is not enabled for a particular class, you will not be able to request absence excusals for that class. Contact your instructor for more information.
If you’d like to request excusal for a particular absence, tap on the specific absence in your attendance history.
Follow the prompts to select the reason for your absence from the provided options.
If necessary, you can add comments or additional details regarding your absence.
Upload any supporting documentation, such as a doctor’s note or Chaplin’s excuse, to your submission, if applicable.
Tap on "Submit" to send the excusal request to your instructor for review. Once your instructor reviews your request, your absence will be marked as either “excused” or “unexcused.”
That’s it! You’re now ready to use LectureLogger to track your attendance and stay engaged with your courses. Should you have any questions or encounter any issues, refer to our support documentation or reach out to your instructor for further assistance.
