Our Story: Building Better Attendance, Together

A student centered solution to a classroom problem

LectureLogger was born from a simple idea: what if we could make showing up matter again? In college, class attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success, yet tracking it remains a burdensome, outdated process. Too often, professors are forced to rely on paper sign-in sheets or clunky software tools that don't integrate with their learning platforms.

As a student at Southern Methodist University, Jude Lugo saw this firsthand. Professors were spending valuable time and energy chasing down attendance. Students were missing class without accountability. Advisors had no reliable data to support at-risk students.

So he built LectureLogger: a simple, mobile first attendance tracking system that helps students stay present, professors stay focused, and institutions stay informed.

Our simple, yet powerful product

LectureLogger revolutionizes university attendance tracking with its dynamic QR code system, ensuring that only students actually present in class can sign in.

LectureLogger enhances communication between students and professors through an in-app absence excusal feature and provides real-time reporting accessible to all university stakeholders.

As we’ve grown, we’ve added integrations with Canvas LMS and campus single sign on (SSO) systems. We’re constantly evaluating student, professor, and administrator feedback to improve the college attendance tracking experience.
