LectureLogger’s secure Single Sign-On (SSO) feature allows seamless access with your institutional credentials, ensuring a hassle-free and secure connection to your attendance and course data.
Seamless Access with Single Sign-On (SSO)
Accessing LectureLogger is now faster and more secure with Single Sign-On (SSO). SMU professors and students can log in effortlessly using their SMU email and password. This eliminates common login issues like forgotten passwords or mistyped emails.
If you’re an SMU user, this feature is live now—simply log in as usual, and LectureLogger will redirect you to the SMU login system for verification. Students should ensure they’ve updated their LectureLogger app to the latest version.

Enhanced Student Experience
We’ve streamlined the onboarding and check-in processes for students:
Automated Welcome Emails: When students are added to a course, they now receive clear, step-by-step instructions to help them get started with LectureLogger quickly and easily.
Improved Check-In Experience: Students will now see clearer notifications when check-ins are successful or need to be retried. Plus, iOS users scanning QR codes with their system camera will be automatically redirected to the LectureLogger app.
Collaboration Made Easy for Professors
Managing courses is simpler than ever with these updates:
Invite Co-Instructors or TAs: Professors can now securely invite other instructors or teaching assistants to help manage their courses without sharing login credentials.
Improved Dashboard Design: The redesigned Courses page has a fresh new look, is more intuitive, and we’ve added helpful icons to guide you through features with ease. Look out for even more improvements coming soon.
Redesigned QR Codes for Reliability
We’ve enhanced the reliability of our QR codes for smoother check-ins. Students using iOS devices will automatically be redirected to the LectureLogger app when scanning with their system camera. The update also includes a new camera zoom function for more convenient scanning.
Canvas LMS Integration
LectureLogger now integrates seamlessly with Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), bringing your favorite tools right into your Canvas courses. Here’s what you can expect:
Automatic roster syncing
Built-in grade impact tracking, if enabled
Student attendance reporting within Canvas
Easy access to LectureLogger features, including the dynamic QR code, directly in Canvas
This feature requires campus activation, and is not yet available at SMU. To activate Canvas integration at your university, ask your campus IT team to contact us at [email protected].
